Nothing prepares your child for success in elementary school like a strong kindergarten experience where academic and social development go hand-in-hand with physical well-being. A balance of group activities, individual attention, and a strong emphasis on reading, writing, spelling, and math provides each child with a solid foundation for elementary school success.
Children at our school are always encouraged and challenged to put their ideas, feelings, and experiences in words, no matter whether they are spoken or written. We give them all the necessary skills to navigate the world of print and books. Our teacher gives a great deal of thought and commits many resources to making sure that all of our students succeed in learning to read.
Students practice penmanship and have many opportunities to enjoy several types of literature. They are also exposed to advanced concepts in science and social studies which are intergrated throughout the program.
Our program will also focus on establishing and maintaining good health. The creative arts program includes experiences in art , music, and drama. Our physical education program focuses on developing physical skills and coordination which are necessary for everyday living. The importance of exercise and fitness as it relates to the child's good health will also be stressed.
Accomodating Learning Styles
Throughout each week, engaging activies are designed to appeal to a variety of learning styles. These activities incorporate techniques for reaching kinesthetic, artistic, musical, verbal, and concrete learners.
Assessment is crucial to understanding student needs. Through reflection on both formal and informal assessments, questions are ansswered and shared with the parents. Parents know where their children are succeeding and wher ethey need continued practice.
The teacher observes her students at works or meets with differentiated small math groups during math work stations. Kids Count Kindergarten Program is cumulative, building on students' knowledge as the year progresses.
Kids Count education is renowned for the nurturing and supportive relationships between teachers, children, and parents.
